This weekend (August 29th and 30th), I will again be a 1×1 special event call, K0T, for the Kansas QSO Party operating as an Expedition station. This means I will be at one location Saturday in Russell County (Wilson State Park US-2355 for POTA) and at the Chase/Marion/Morris County Corner that I previously operated from in 2024 on Sunday. New for this year is that I plan to operate both CW and SSB as I have recently gotten my CW skills up to snuff. That said, I will operate primarily SSB on 20m and 40m and will occasionally jump on 15m band conditions permitting as my 20/40m linked dipole will allow me to tune up on 15m.
I also aim to activate Wilson State Park on satellites (outside of the Kansas QSO Party) and potentially make a run at activating Mushroom Rock State Park (US-2346) since I will be in the area as I continue to work on activating all Kansas State Parks on satellites. My current plan is for Wilson State Park Friday evening (I will be camping there Friday night) and possibly making an early morning run out to Mushroom Rock before the QSO party starts. I will try to post these to hams.at with as much notice as possible.
I hope to work you on the air this weekend! Thanks again to Bob, W0BH, for his work on making the QSO party happen and for generating the map above which shows my route for the weekend.
