I’ve made it to Turks and Caicos! After a relatively smooth travel day, we settled into our condo last evening. I was able to string up a quick wire on the porch and work a few stations on 30m FT8. More HF operations will happen this week in that style, likely in the evenings only.
As for satellites, our condo grounds do not have a good view of the sky, so I will have to work stations from the beach during the day. With our vacation schedule as variable as it is, that also means I generally won’t have lists of planned passes to share at the beginning of each day. For today, there are RS-44 and AO-7 passes this afternoon that look like the best bets for me.
I have two email distribution lists (coming via my Garmin InReach) – one is for satellites and the other is for HF operations. I try to send out messages with enough notice as possible as to when I will be on the air, and you can respond to them in the included link with questions or comments (although there can be a decent delay in me getting those). Send me an email at vp5 (at) kd8rtt (dot) com and let me know if you want to be on either or both lists. Several hams already have (if you got messages last night, no need to email me again).
Hope to work you!
